TWO WAYS | BON VOYAGE PART I

This is the first installment of 'TWO WAYS', where I've styled Fame & Partner's Voyage two piece from a formal outfit into a more versatile and wearable for day-to-day streetwear
A couple of months ago, I picked up both the bandeau and the skirt for $40 at their Bondi Markets sample sale! Whilst I was trying it on, I did feel a little uncomfortable with the amount of midriff that was on show, especially since the bandeau is just big enough to cover any sort of skant undergarments.

In this more casual outfit, I decided to brave the midriff and pair it with a somewhat high-waisted pair of trousers from Zara. I busted out these wedges, which I haven't worn in almost 4 years, because they add a little bit of much needed height and elongates my legs to distract from my proportionally longer torso. However, I got a pretty painful reminder as to why these have been shoved aside after walking back to the train station and rolling my ankle along the way - but they're so pretty!
It's actually crazy to think that two weeks ago, it was still warm enough to wear bandeaus, because we've been experiencing torrential rain over here in Sydney. The Rocks, where Michelle and I did these shoots, has been completely flooded and fake photos of the Harbour Bridge being covered by a waterfall taking the spotlight.

OUTFIT | BLURRED LINES

This outfit has become my go-to for work (save the boots for some flatter, more comfortable ones). I feel like a classic striped button up is always safe for business-wear, but the flowy structure makes it a little bit easier to move around and gives off a much more relaxed vibe. I finally found something to wear with my body chain, which hasn't been worn since my formal (anyone still interested in formal photos??), and that makes me quite happy :)

AUTUMN PLAYLIST

As the cold weather starts to roll in, I start hibernating with mellow tunes, a warm fluffy blanket and a cup of tea. Although I've been rinsing some of these Lewis Watson and Matt Corby tracks regardless of the season, some of these new discoveries goes really well with my current mood.

Top of the list would have to be James Bay's Chaos and the Calm album. Eventually every track on the album will have been repeated to the point of exhaustion, my current fave being 'Incomplete'. I've also been loving iTunes Radio sessions lately - James Bay Radio is #bae. I've rediscovered some Matt Corby and Ben Howard (to get me back into the mood for his concert in May) and I'm starting to get hooked on Nothing but Thieves

Somehow, I'm still not sick of Lewis Watson's The Morning. I went to my first Lewis Watson headline concert last month, after missing him on his last trip down under. The gig definitely reignited my love for some of these tracks, especially his off-mic performance of 'Halo' (which absolutely killed me btw).

I honestly didn't expect myself to like The Pinkprint so much, I mean me downloading a full Nicki Minaj album is almost absurd. But I've found myself repeatedly going back to some of these slower, more personal songs on the album. One of my best friends also recommended the Kanye & Bon Iver collab that is the gorgeous 'Lost in the World'. Again, I'm not a huge rap kinda girl, but this track gets some feels going.

I'm still finding the time to get into Hozier, Passenger's new album and revisit You Me At Six before their concert in May! :)

What have been your jams lately?

OUTFIT | ALL THAT GLITTERS

I'm going through a serious sequin phase at the moment (as in, give me any excuse and I'll wear sequins). I'd been eyeing these Silence + Disco sequinned hot pants for a while and made no second thought when I saw them in the sale section for $5!!
They came just in time for one of my best friend's 18th at Little Jack Horner in Coogee. Although running into the ocean in sequinned shorts probably wasn't my brightest idea, the shorts held up fairly well during the night. The only downside is the unavoidable dull itch that comes with wearing sequins and the lack of pockets; because in my books, wearing an outfit without pockets is practically a fashion crime.

DAINTY NECKLACES

It's pretty fair to say that I've gone through a fair few jewellery-collecting phases over the years - bracelets, statement necklaces, midi rings, etc.

Recently, I've been lusting, buying and reaching for dainty and layerable necklaces. They're simple, they're elegant and they can just add the perfect touch to any outfit. Generally, I'll layer gold with gold and silver with silver, and occasionally chuck in some hemp/non-metal pieces in the mix.

I'm partial to gold accessories, so I have a strong tendency to reach for my gold star necklace (Lovisa) and my raw crystal necklace (birthday present from my best friends). On the silver side of the equation, my favourites would have to be the set of tiny tiny star necklaces (Swarovski - present from the bae) for the days I'm feeling particularly dainty and the beat up diamond (Glebe Markets) for my slightly grungier feels. To really reiterate the fact that I love my star necklaces, I also have this charity necklace from the Starlight Foundation. To round it all off, I have a little freebie that came with the latest edition of Russh magazine that has a double s, which matches the "ss" in Melissa (so tacky, I know)

Are you aboard the dainty necklace bandwagon?

Mini update: My laptop is currently defunct, and I'm not sure if I can get it repaired before the long weekend. Unfortunately, this means I'm very limited in terms of content which I can post before then and there is a very high likelihood that all the outfit photos I've taken recently will be irretreivable. I hope you can all bear with me whilst I fix this technical glitch! Love you all x
