It's been a long time coming (18 years, in fact), but I made it to adulthood!

A couple of weeks ago, I had a birthday party to celebrate my coming of age because apparently no one likes to stay in Sydney on my actual birthday (two of my best friends and my boyfriend included).

Having had Christmas presents and birthday presents rolled into one for my entire life, I thought it would be rather appropriate to make the theme: Christmas - Celebrating 18 Years of Synonymous Festivities. And I can tell you, finding decorations and themed items for the party was just about the easiest job I've ever had - fairy lights, bonbons and tinsel galore!

And I dressed up as a reindeer, albeit in a white maxi dress.

Dress: Dotti

I thought it would be a cute idea to set a photobooth using my DSLR camera and my remote (so all my friends can know what it feels like to do outfit shoots lol). I bought a Christmas photobooth prop back from the dollar store, complete with Santa hats and mistletoe.

I'm so grateful for the amazing company and all the beautiful gifts I received. I honestly did not expect to be showered with so much love and so many presents (especially the ones on my birthday wishlist)! I finally got hold of a Polaroid camera and took my first photo with my best friends, after which we spent 5 minutes watching the photo develop. All in all, I had a great night and I wish you were all there!

I spent my actual birthday with my best friends at Glebe Markets (picked up a pair of American Apparel disco shorts for $15 - aww yiss) and was hoping to have lunch at the beautifully rustic Grounds of Alexandria. Unfortunately, Grounds was closed so we headed off to the nearest, decently priced food joint and stumbled upon the Rocks Brewery Company. I ordered my first apple cider, and welcomed in adulthood with family and friends!

What would you theme your party?

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas is already coming to an end down under, but I hope you're having a wonderful day wherever you are :) I've received some amazing presents this year, but I think I've been more than grateful for the time I've spent with my family and friends over the holiday period. I wish all my readers and followers a merry Christmas!

I'm off to go join my family watch my neighbours light some slightly illegal fireworks in the rain!

Merry Christmas!

Lots of love

With only four days until Christmas, I can bet that a couple of you have left Christmas shopping to the last minute. Here's a couple of last minute gift to help save the day!

Last Minute Christmas Gift Guide

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream // For the lady in your life who doesn't have the time to pamper herself

After hearing so many amazing reviews from the likes of Vivanna, I shamelessly asked for the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream for my birthday. I thought it would be the perfect multitask product for my trip to Europe and just in life. It does everything - from moisturising lips to shaping brows, soothing dry hands to treating windburn and chafing. I've only had it for a week, but I thought it would be the perfect product for the superwoman in my life (aka my mother)

Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret // For the beauty junkie

Although this is the only product on this list that I don't own for myself, the thought of receiving this for Christmas makes my inner beauty junkie glow. You've the perfect mix of neutrals and bold lip colours which are renown for gliding on without a fuss. This is also the perfect 'divide and conquer' gift, where you can distribute your lip pencils amongst 5 loved ones and keep the gorgeous box for yourself!

Paul Arden's "It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be" // For the highly motivated or extremely lazy student

In the last two months, I've seen Paul Arden's "It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be" on too many blogs and Instagram profiles to count. When I stumbled across it in Kikki K, I bought it for myself as a Christmas present. I finished the book within a couple hours, feeling inspired, unafraid and confident enough to correct my boyfriend's impeccable cover letter. It's the bible any student needs to head into the new year.

(Also try: Lena Durham's "Not That Kind Of Girl" // Jon Krauker's "Into The Wild")

A Pile of Poo // For anyone and everyone

Yep, you read that right! For only $15, this is the perfect present for tapping into your giftee's charitable side and helping foreign communities grow nutritious produce. All you need to do is print out your gift certificate, which means it's the perfect last minute gift which keeps on giving!

(Also try: A Chicken // A Veggie Garden)

With less than 3 weeks until 2015, I thought it was time to re-evaluate how I'm going to approach working productively in the new year. I also received this beautiful Jasmine Dowling print in the mail (yes, Christmas did come early), which inspired me to share my five essentials for keeping motivated, organised and productive!

5 Essentials for New Year Productivity

Crop Top: Dotti // Skirt: Valleygirl // Boots: Lipstick (via Dotti)
Lips: M.A.C. Viva Glam Nicki // Necklace: Forever 21
...want none unless you got buns, hun!

Whilst I'd probably come under the category of "skinny bitches in the club", I chucked my hair up in a massive bun and busted out my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick for one of my best friend's 18th birthday party. I hardly ever reach for a bubblegum pink, but seeing as 'Anaconda' is my friend's current jam, I don't think I could've gotten a more perfect excuse to bring it into action.

Besides the monstrosity that rests on the top of my head, my 'buns' game really isn't strong at all. I had to cheat my way with a patterned crop top (+ I wore a maaaassive push up bra) and a bandage skirt. No one has to know it's an illusion ;)

I seem to have this insatiable thirst for all things beauty related in the Youtube world, with my 'To Watch' list filled with over 200 videos. Since discovering the beauty guru domain in late 2010, I've come to appreciate a select couple of Youtubers who seem to get their content, editing and personality all in check.

The people of the internet...I present to you, yet another, formal appreciation post!

Formal season has come to a close and I'm so glad I finished my 'high school formal career' on such a beautiful night with some of my favourite people.

My boyfriend's school had their formal at the astounding Curzon Hall in Sydney - a venue that I truly have a love affair with - and we snapped a couple of pictures before we headed to the night of nights! Unfortunately, our transport never turned up, so we got to the venue too late to get any photos at the stunning location :(

Dress: Fame & Partners // Heels: Freelance // Necklace: Swavorski // Clutch: Glomesh

In all honesty, I've lusted over a dupe of Selena Gomez's dress from her Come And Get It music video for too long and I was over-the-moon to discover an Australian website that stocked it (still can't trust those Chinese imitation sites). The 'Night Watch' dress is nowhere near as sheer as the actual dress, which makes it a perfect sultry yet classy formal dress. And I can safely say that this dress ignited my love for Fame & Partners - and now I'm part of their Fame Chain!

A black dress is the easiest item to accessorise, for yourself and your date. I went with my staple black cutout wedges/heels from Freelance and a Glomesh clutch from my Grandma's vintage collection. I actually forgot my necklace on the day, but thankfully my friend had this gorgeous Swavorski necklace that she could lend me (definitely a billion times better than the option I originally had anyway)

I've always loved the black/white/red colour combo for formals so I really wanted to go for a red lip. I spent ages hunting for a red lip stain that wouldn't budge/eat/kiss off and finally stumbled upon Rimmel's Provocalips in Kiss Me You Fool (I spent 4 days straight with my left arm completely swatched up). I can vouch that it does not move!
